Prelude: An Ode to Intuition
My prefrontal cortex has always been a battleground of counsels, with each side attempting to turn their diametrically opposed delusions into actions. Sometimes, I would wish for Reason (the neutral and pragmatic, alas absent third-party of my psyche) to usurp control.
A series of unfortunate events (which we’ll get into later) had convinced me to believe that my gut feeling had been comprised, and thus would only lead me astray. For the better part of two years, I had succumb entirely to learned helplessness - broke, kinda cancelled, and wondering wtf I was doing in NYC.
Then, one day PIT//STOP came to me. It felt like a dart had struck my back, piercing the acupuncture point responsible for my stupor. Instantly, my posture corrected and my chin lifted. The dense fog that had stalked me for so long dissipated, clearing the road ahead. I could see my future again.
PIT//STOP is an extension of myself, the parts that I cannot put into words or share through media. It’s a culmination of the joy, melancholy, and entirely unhinged behavior that I’ve witnessed, participated in, and been victim of. Most of all, it is the sign I needed to never doubt my intuition again.
Nearly two years later, I’m blessed to write that everything I’ve envisioned plus more has come, or is coming to life.

What's In Store for This Substack?
There is so much that goes on behind the scenes at PIT//STOP. Over the past month, I’ve been heavily involved with the production of a major motion picture set to be released next year. My first time being a part of anything Hollywood-related, my friends and I know the implications of the release will be major, possibly life-changing, but cannot possibly foresee the extent of change we’ll soon experience.
The idea to start this Substack came to me after having spent a day at an afterparty cackling with my friends over our lore and realizing — “hmm, I think we’re giving fringe society” . As I anxiously await what’s to unfold next year, I thought what better time to document the 6-year journey that brought me here?
Spoiler: It’s full of crazy side quests, benders, backstabbings, scandals, love, heartbreak, near-death experiences, and redemption arcs.
This Substack will be a place for my musings, both personal and PIT//STOP-related (essentially one and the same). I’ll be writing about :
The years prior to PIT//STOP
Production drama + BTS
The inspiration and meaning behind my work
Nightlife’s state of affairs
The business of the electronic music industry
-
How to navigate(/survive) creative industries as aspiring artists and entrepreneurs
Paid subscribers will get the full tea: piping hot, insightful, uncensored, and bound to ruffle some feathers 💋
